Maternity Session FAQs
When should I schedule my maternity session?
The best time is when you're around 28-32 weeks. At this stage, your belly is beautifully round, but it’s still comfortable for you to move around and handle outfit changes.
Do you offer outfits?
For maternity sessions, I used to provide outfits. I sold many of them and kept only a few. You will need to bring your outfit. I can also get some that I still have for you to choose from when you arrive. I also have a couple of puffy dresses and a variety of fabrics I use as drapery to create intimate, yet classy and beautiful poses. So if you don't have anything do not worry because we can figure things out.
How many gowns or outfits can I change into?
It typically depends on the flow of the session, but we can usually do up to 3 outfit changes.
Do you provide any props for the session?
For maternity sessions, I don’t typically use props. Instead, I like to play with different backdrops and floral accents to create elegant, timeless photos.
Can my husband be in the pictures?
Absolutely! For maternity sessions, you can include your husband and other children in the photos.
Can other family members be a part of my session?
Yes, your partner and children as I mentioned before are welcome to join the session. If you'd like to include grandparents, there will be an additional fee, though the total number of images will stay the same. I don't usually get this request mostly because my studio is very small. Sometimes I am limited to probably 4 adults.
Do you offer makeup and hair services?
I don’t offer those services, but it’s always a great idea to treat yourself to a little makeover for your session. It can really elevate the final look!
How long does a maternity session last?
I like to take my time, but generally, sessions last between 45 minutes to 1.5 hours, depending on the number of outfits and poses.
What time of day is best for the shoot?
I prefer shooting in the morning. Any time between 8 AM and 2 PM works best for natural light and keeping the session relaxed. If we are photographing
outdoors the best time is an hour before sunset.
How long will it take to receive my photos?
I will send you a proof gallery within 3 days. Once you select your images, it will take about 2-3 weeks for final delivery. I do offer a rush option, where I can deliver your gallery within 48 hours after image selection for an additional fee.
Do you retouch the photos?
Yes, I do retouch the photos. You're welcome to check my portfolio to see my editing style and make sure it matches what you’re looking for.
Do you offer a special discount if I book a newborn session as well?
Yes, I offer a small discounted package when you book both maternity and newborn sessions. You will need to pay the non-refundable retainer for the newborn session at the time of booking.
Where is your studio?
My studio is in my home, and it's a cozy, small space. I kindly request that only those who will be photographed be present during the session to keep things comfortable and focused.
Do you accept all payment types?
I accept Zelle, Venmo, and cash.
