Newborn Prep-Guide

Keep baby awake for an hour or so before the session. This helps make baby extra sleepy for the session and when baby can get in a deeper sleep, it makes posing and going from one set to another easier. A warm bath is a great way to do this as well as talking and interacting with baby a couple of hours before coming.

Feed baby right before the session. A full belly makes for a happy, sleepy baby. Maybe pump a bottle to make sure baby is well fed. Sometimes breastfeeding babies just love snuggling with mom and won’t really feed well. Feel free to come a little early to the studio to feed baby right before if you need to. Please bring extra bottles for your baby sometimes they need to eat just a little more than normal because of so much exercise they do with me.

Please bring a pacifier, even if baby doesn’t seem to take it. Sucking is a soothing mechanism and can really help with settling baby once I have them in place for photos, even if I have to hold the pacifier for a bit to help.
The studio will be warm. Usually 78* Babies like being warm and having the heat cranked up (no matter the time of year), helps baby stay settled and sleepy. Just like little bears hibernating!
Wear something for a very hot room! I know I do!!! Lol
Again is a warm room so dress appropriately.

There is no need to bring anything for baby to wear. I provide all the wraps, headbands, hats, clothes and props.

I highly recommend eating a good hearty breakfast before you arrive. I also have water, coffee and some snacks in my studio.

I do family & siblings Last. Sessions can last anywhere from 2-3 hours which can be a long time for siblings to wait, especially when the studio needs to be somewhat quiet. Have Dad drive separate or Grandma meet at the studio to bring siblings.(We can talk more about this)

Safety is my number one top priority when handling your baby so either mom or dad will be my spotter/assistant when needed. All eyes and hands are to be kept around baby during posing. During the session I will be handling and posing baby, but sometimes I will need some extra hands.

I’m so looking forward! I’ll try recording a few videos for you. (If baby is doing well) You are welcome to get a few behind the scenes. But please also sit back and enjoy your time.
Please do not forget my studio is at home and I can only have 2 adults in my small studio.

message me when you are on your way. (It helps me keep and eye on you for when you arrive)
